Rhinoplasty (Nose Surgery)

“One of the most gratifying cosmetic surgical procedures to perform…”

Dr. Carr finds that rhinoplasty, or the reshaping of the nose, is one of the most gratifying cosmetic surgical procedures to perform because it is one of the most satisfying ways to improve facial balance and enhance self-confidence. Dr. Carr can reduce or increase the size of your nose or nostrils, correct an irregularity, reshape the tip or bridge, and even change the angle between your nose tip and upper lip. Anything is possible! Plus, we have video imaging available so that you can “see” the results before you decide!

About the procedure

Depending on the type of reshaping you require, Dr. Carr will make incisions inside and at the base of the nose. These incisions are tiny and not usually visible once healed. To improve breathing, parts of the nasal septum may have to be removed. Most procedures only take a few hours in our private surgical room under light general anaesthesia. You will be able to go home the same day with a light dressing and splint over your nose.

What to expect during recovery

You will need to wear the splint for a week and will have some discomfort for the first fourty-eight to seventy-two hours which is easily controlled with medication. If soft nasal packing is required, it is removed within three to five days. Swelling and bruising will subside in seven to ten days, and you will be able to return to work. Final swelling can take up to six months to resolve.

What you’ll look like afterwards

Dr. Carr strives to obtain beautiful, natural results for every patient treated, taking into account face shape, profile, physical features, and cosmetic goals. The procedure is personalized for each patient, resulting in a carefully designed nose that is proportionate and complementary. Dr. Carr’s personal approach to each surgery allows for balance and facial harmony, resulting in naturally beautiful results and enhanced self confidence.
